VINUM GERMANIA is an outstanding range of wines produced in the Mosel, which is world-renowned and the oldest wine growing region in Germany.
The Mosel area was conquered by the Romans some 2000 years ago, during the rise of the Roman Empire. Wine being an integral part of Roman life and culture led to the introduction of viticulture to the region, as transporting wine from Italy to supply the Roman garrisons was extremely costly. From that day, there has been wide-spread cultivation of fine grapes in the Mosel region.
The Roman column on the label of Vinum Germania symbolizes the power, history and influence of the culture established in the area. It can also be interpreted as the Roman numeral I, epitomizing the first-class grape varieties in Germany and the Mosel River Valley ? especially the very successful Riesling, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc.
